BLOC Concrete Solutions recently completed the installation of a pump base for one of our clients. The project involved accurately positioning the pump and ensuring a secure and durable connection between the equipment and its concrete foundation.
The installation process began with the placement of anchor bolts into the concrete base. These bolts were carefully set to match the exact alignment of the pump’s baseplate, ensuring that the equipment would sit correctly and operate as intended once installed.
Once the pump was positioned and aligned, formwork was constructed around the base of the equipment to contain the grout during the next phase of the installation. This step is important in pump installations as it allows the grout to fully fill the space beneath the baseplate.
A high-strength, free-flowing micro-concrete grout was then poured beneath the pump base. This specialised grout is designed to flow easily into all gaps and voids beneath the equipment, creating complete contact between the pump baseplate and the concrete foundation. Proper grouting distributes loads evenly, reduces vibration, and helps ensure the long-term stability of the installation.
After the grout had fully cured, the anchor bolts were tightened to securely lock the pump in position.
This process ensures that the pump is firmly supported and properly aligned, providing a stable and reliable foundation for its ongoing operation.
